RECOVERY – RELATIONSHIPS – RENEWAL

Testimonies – “In that tiny “church” (NSC) housed in the multi-purpose room in the
back of the basement I found what I’d been looking for my entire life. I found peace.
I found unconditional love. I found people who genuinely cared about me and wanted to
be there for me, expecting nothing in return. I found people who truly understood
pain and silent suffering. I found emotional safety and the freedom to be honest,
vulnerable, and yes, imperfect. I’d grown up ‘in the church’, but only in the last
year have I come to know what fellowship and family in the body of Christ really mean.”
-S.T.

WE ALL HAVE HURTS, HABITS AND HANGUPS that have contributed to our life problems.
We’ve traveled broken roads with nowhere left to turn. We have discovered hope, help, and healing as we grow spiritually.

INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS ARE WELCOMED AND SUPPORTED – Many
people, just like you and me, (or a family member) struggle with drugs, relationship issues, or damaging behaviors in our lives.
their lives. We are here to support any and all people (perhaps even you ) who have
decided that they are sick and tired of being sick and tired. The meetings/service will
begin with music, food, and fellowship, and a message, followed by support groups.
Everyone is welcome to attend – we all have hurts, habits, and hang ups.

WE’RE NORTHSTAR COMMUNITY – a group of people who originated in Bon Air in 1999,
and expanded to Hanover County in 2008 to celebrate recovery, relationships and
renewal. We share a common purpose: to find solutions.

A TURNING POINT – At NorthStar, we choose to turn from hurt to healing and
recovery. We come together in a casual setting with other people who have learned that
accepting God’s grace in solving our problems leads to life-changing solutions and a
pathway to peace.

We learn in community as we share refreshments, music, and relationships. NorthStar
ministers Teresa McBean and Craig Simpson presents a common sense message to help us
apply Godly principles to everyday life.

NorthStar Community now meets in two locations in Virginia, Bon Air and Walnut
Grove.

Recovery and spirituality groups for men and women meet immediately following
Friday’s service.

Join us! We meet in the Multi-Purpose room. Park in the front parking lot and enter
through the double doors where the ramp is located.
