brock preaching 2018

Senior Pastor Brock Goetsch

Together with his wife Ashley and two boys, Eli (age 6) and Clark (almost 1), they have a heart to serve God, love people, and be used to make a difference in the world around them.

Prior to agreeing to come to Walnut Grove, Pastor Brock Goetsch and his family teamed with Midpoint Baptist Church in Moran KS in 2015, for the purpose of building a thriving church in this needy and rural area. Almost immediately, God began to bless, and the little church grew. Today, Midpoint Baptist Church sits at a new location and shines as a light to the city of Moran and its neighboring communities.

Prior to coming to Moran KS, Pastor Brock worked as a youth pastor in the DC metropolitan area, and as the administrator for the Family Life Chaplains Office of the Pentagon in Arlington VA. His dynamic preaching style is both passionate and practical, but most importantly it is founded upon the Word of God.

Meghan Mines – Director of  Music Ministries

A lifelong member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Megan has a passion for music and worship.  From her earliest years, she has been active in children and youth ministries, missions and outreach, choir, and praise team.  Megan has fond memories of “glowing and growing” with her church family for 30+ years, and is looking forward to the next 30!
She earned her Bachelor’s of Music Education in 2004 from VCU.  After teaching high school choir for a year in the public school system, God closed these doors.  Feeling God was calling her to reevaluate, Megan served as a preschool teacher for 7 years with the Walnut Grove Children’s Learning Center. During this time, she completed necessary coursework to obtain a position as a Special Education Teacher with Hanover County at Stonewall Jackson Middle School. It became evident that God’s calling for her life was for music to become her ministry, and not her profession.   Megan currently serves as the Director of Music and Worship for Walnut Grove Baptist Church, in addition to her employment with Hanover County. She collaborates weekly to create Spirit led worship services,  leads the Worship Team, Adult Choir, and Children’s Music Ministries.
Megan’s ministerial goal is to continue growing Christ’s kingdom through music and worship. Walnut Grove is a church deeply rooted in tradition and Megan has the fortunate opportunity to have seen many years of Walnut’s Grove history.  She herself has fond memories of her childhood, sitting with her grandmother in the pews of WGBC during traditional style worship services. Megan aims to create worship experiences that not only honor the traditional styles of worship but also to remain current and relevant for today’s generation.  Megan’s goal is to be a catalyst for change, pushing Walnut Grove Baptist Church to remain as a “light on a hill” for all of God’s children for many years to come.
